Republican presidential candidate and self-described conservative Buddy Roemer appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this morning to rail against what he calls a broken campaign financing system.
Roemer describes the reforms he would implement, if elected, including banning lobbyists’ campaign contributions and outlawing Super PACs, the political organizations that can accept unlimited secret campaign contributions from corporations and individuals.
Roemer has made ending the corrupting influence of money in politics a central theme of his campaign. And he doesn’t mince words.
“You know who owns America?” Roemer asks. “You don’t.”
