Majority of Americans want new campaign finance laws

Rasmussen is out with a new poll this week showing that most Americans, across the political spectrum, believe that the country needs more campaign finance laws:

Fifty-eight percent (58%) of adults now say the country needs new campaign laws, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. That’s a marked increase from three years ago. Now only 33% think it’s enough to just enforce the laws we already have.

Most of those surveyed opposed public financing of presidential financing, and about half said incumbents running for reelection should be banned from receiving any campaign contributions whatsoever. Read more: Rasmussen: 58% Say U.S. Needs New Campaign Finance Laws
