FAQ’s
Why is United Republic needed?
Because Big Money is wrecking American democracy, and it’s time to launch a winning political strategy to get money out of politics.
Is United Republic progressive or conservative? Democratic or Republican?
None of the above. United Republic is a fiercely nonpartisan organization that is laser focused on one issue: creating a government of, by and for the people, not corporate lobbyists. We take corrupt politicians to task — Democratic or Republican.
How is United Republic funded?
United Republic is a 501c4 organization funded by thousands of small donors — conservative and liberal, and from across the nation — who understand that nearly every issue is held hostage by well-financed special interests. They are supporting a bold new effort to expose corruption and galvanize every American – from the Tea Party to Occupy – around sweeping reforms to reclaim our government from moneyed interests. Is United Republic affiliated with Occupy Wall Street or the 99% movement? The Tea Party?
All of the above. People of all persuasions are angry and they don’t feel like Washington works for them anymore. And they’re right. The wealth divide in this country is just as much a creation of Big Money as is deficit spending.
