Represent.Us (a campaign of United Republic) offers semester long and summer internship opportunities to talented undergraduate students who feel passionately about addressing the undue influence of money in US politics. Opportunities are currently available in our Florence, MA office.

Ideal candidates will be creative, artistic, multi-talented individuals driven to create, participate and make their mark.
This internship will allow students to gain a deep understanding about the democracy reform movements taking place in our country. You will apply skills in marketing, communications, web development and design. Working closely with the campaign team, interns will design and develop a variety of online and offline materials and communications – and support all social media and outreach efforts.
This position will entail:
- Marketing and branding
- Collateral and campaign design
- Web development (HTML a must, Javascript a plus. No heavy programming)
- Public Relations coordination
- Contribute to our blog
- Help with grassroots organizing efforts
- Research projects supporting various aspects of the Represent.Us mission

Candidates will need to have a concrete knowledge of HTML and CSS, some experience with JavaScript, and ideally will have experience with other languages such as PHP, Python or something similar. Knowledge of SQL will also be very helpful. Additionally, candidates should be comfortable working independently as well as effectively working with a team.
This internship program will allow students to gain a deep understanding about the democracy reform movements taking place in our country.
This position will entail:
- Website and web app design and development
- Research projects supporting various aspects of the Represent.Us mission
- Communicating with our membership of 250,000+ through social media and mailing list
- Supporting our fundraising database through research and data entry
- Assisting the Communications Team in pulling clips featuring Represent.Us in the news, building press lists, and pitching our work to major news outlets
- Marketing/branding and external affairs coordination

Depending on skill level and interest interns may take part in:
- Monitor and engage on Twitter, Facebook and other platforms
- Post current on Twitter, Facebook and other platforms
- Internet research to find existing blogs and content
- Occasional research for blog posts
- Follow and list appropriate people on Twitter
- Communicate exciting news
- Trace statistics and report weekly
- Track key performance indicators
- Make graphics/find them for use on social media
Qualifications:
- Familiar with Twitter and Facebook
- Passionate about Social Media
- Friendly and conversational
- GPA at least 3.0
- Must be detail oriented, team player and technologically savvy
- Must be comfortable with Microsoft Excel
- Fast Learner
Benefits:
- Estimated weekly hours are 10-20 hours per week, unless you have more time than that (schedule is flexible, but a minimum of ½ hour each day, to keep the communication constant)
- Minimum 3-month commitment, but longer if you’d like

Political Science/Democracy Reform Intern
Calling all passionate individuals ready to take on corruption in our government with our bold, new campaign. Represent.Us (a campaign of United Republic) needs dedicated, qualified interns to help move this campaign forward. We are offering fall and spring semester and summer internship opportunities to talented undergraduate students who feel passionately about addressing the undue influence of money in US politics. Opportunities are available in our Florence, MA office.
Our internship program will allow students to gain a deep understanding about the democracy reform movements taking place in our country. Working closely with the staff, interns will work on the many facets of an advocacy and journalistic organization such as: organizing, research, and fundraising. Depending on skill level and interest interns may take part in:
- Investigative research, helping to expose corruption in our political system
- Marketing/branding and external affairs coordination
- Contributing to our anti-corruption news blog
- Supporting our fundraising database through research and data entry
- Helping with grassroots organizing efforts
- Website development and other collateral materials
- Searching for the days top money-in-politics news stories and curating them for the website
In addition to supporting our programmatic efforts, daily tasks will include some administrative and operational support. Ideal candidates will be hard working, enthusiastic, detail oriented, resourceful and most importantly, have a passion for good government.
