Thank you!

Thank you for standing up to bribery

Now tell the rest of America! We don’t want “bought” staffers in our House.

If enough people see this, we can take Tom down!

Here’s a link to the petition, where we’re supporting the inquisition into Northrop Grumman’s $500,000 “bonus” to Tom MacKenzie:

As screwed up as the “Thomas” situation is….we need to cut the head of the viper off!!!! Since we can’t “fire” our “Supreme Court”; we must find a way to kill the “Citizen’s United”..(joke)..ruling before a handful of mil/billionares buy and sell our “democracy” to the highest bidders!  I’m thinking a SERIOUS third party movement is in order! In the mean time; let’s show Thomas the door and see if it hits him proper on the way out! Like the man with the sign says; “voters not donors” ..great bumper sticker..fight to make it a reality!

    • Rditz

Where is the third party? GOP and Dems are 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. As long as the voter continue to vote for incumbents they deserve what they get. The problem is the remainder of thinking folks get the same corruption. We have no democracy as long as the money remains the main factor in getting elected. The politicians are bought the same as the votes.

    • balding

      Ctizens not united
      WE are people.

  • Jennifer

Our democracy has been lost to corruption for far to long.

  • Bobinnodin

Some people say, we complain about what is wrong with this country when there are so many things right.  I say–B.S.  this kinda of crap is so prevalent in our country now–it has become the new norm.  Bribary, payola, etc etc is tearing this country apart–we will be the Roman Empire Redux–I say let the Sequester take place and bring down the Military Industrial Complex that Ike warned us about–

Vote for Gary Johnson, period, there is no other choice at this point.

Its starting to smell alot like 2000, #43, Bush business as usual you know the example setter. He led fron Croford Taxas, you know the country club admisphere stinken thinken.

Try this article to get the big picture of just how bad it is.  Don’t get lost in the health care industry he is using for an example.   Pay attention to how business is done in in the biggest whore house in the land - Washington D.C..

We has to stop capitalism chipping away our government

  • Lou

We are worse than any 3rd World Country (biggest joke so far is we used to think they were corrupt but they are nothing compared to us.)  Between the stupid Surpreme Court were it is possible for one person to buy the country, and the corrupt Republicans in Congress who have a plan to scuttle the USA in order to remove the President of the USA.

    • yodadog

It’s not just repubs; it’s all of them! Get the money out (lobbyist and contributions) and lock the revolving door between industry and government.

  • Lynncidila

this is another type of B.S. that is bing brought about because of [our], Big belly laugh, Supreme Courts decision on Citizens United. Instead of Citizens United why couldn’t they be truthful enough to say corporations United or even Corruption United? They showed their true colors CORRUPTION RULES THE SUPREME COURT NOT THE CITIZENS . Time to put them on term limits instead of them thinking that they are KINGS of the roost.

    • Eartime

Lynncidila, I wholeheartedly agree with you regarding term limits on “supreme” judges! I struggle though with taking that same stance when it comes to elected officials.  Hold on, granted, 99 out of 100 need to be kicked out on day one; but serious “for-the-people” types such as Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont (the only true Independent) would and should deserve to serve as long as his commitment takes him! I consider myself an Independent-minded-Libertarianly liberal-Progressive-minded Democrat…now that would be an interesting heading for a ballot column!  Keep pushing for those term limit proposal cause they may “be” the law; but by God they’re not “above” the law!

  • NoTea4Me

I don’t care WTF flip-flopping liar Mittens says, corporations are NOT people! And ‘Citizens United’ was the worst decision the Extreme Court ever made, at least the worst in a generation! The increasingly radical tea-bagged right that has taken over the reigns of the GOP is taking us on a fast track to a plutocratic nightmare w their uber-corrupt Super Pac concept. How far can ordinary Americans be from being angry enough to begin taking to the streets w pitch forks and torches? The Occupy Wall St / 99% movement may be just a tame, scaled  down preview of whats coming up if the stench and hypocrisy of the Romney/Koch party gets much worse.

  • Jra0803

We have to stand together and get the money out of politics, I feel it is in the supreme court all of this super pack money do they think people can’t see what they are doing. No they just don’t care about the people. Please everyone stay together and vote for the good candidates up for election this year.

You people who insist on recovering our Democracy, go to “Thirty-thousand . org.  Read it and see if you think this idea might help.  If you do, please spread the word about the sight and idea. Lets preserve our Democracy.  It makes me sick to see it as it is now.

  • Lakeshore Liz

The Republicans throw around the words “Nazi” and “Hitler”.  Well how did the Nazi Party begin?  By blending into a major party and eventually taking over that party.  It also appealed to the post WWI population promising an end to inflation and poverty.  The German people gave up their freedom to follow leaders who promised much,  did not make known their plans, and eventually followed them into a indescribable war that ruined the economies of many nations.  I see the Republicans as directly attacking democracy, and replacing it with a plutocracy.  The Republicans want a one party nation.  Sounds like Nazis to me.

    • Horatio

Sadly, and with great fear,  you could not be more correct.

    • Sancire

Actually the Repugs are fine with the two party system that offers the illusion of choice.  Sadly, the same uber-wealthy bastards and multi-national corporations buy politicians and staffers of both major US political parties.  We, the voters, are ultimately to blame for not firing corrupt legislators during primary elections.  Folks, here’s a tip: if he’s an incumbant, and you’re not sure he’s a champion of the people, fire his ass.  If enough of us do this consistent for a long-enough period of time, the politicians might actually feel that they work for us instead of for wealthy donors.  That’s just my two cents.  Thanks.

      • Bman2000

More independents in office are needed…we must vote in independents to break this two party ( one party) illusion

      • Eartime

Sancire, as a newcomer to this community; you are my first “reply”.  Just wanted you to know that your “two cents” is worth all the gold in Ft. Knox!!! Your observation of the real problem (us) is refreshing since it recalls the age old adage: “If you don’t vote, you can’t bitch!”.  We need people to exercise their right to vote. At 58, I got the vote in 1972; took the opportunity seriously; (voted for McGovern) and I haven’t missed a primary or general since.  I just hope that this new technology world actually connects and means more to the populous than just FB chatter, silly tweets, and another avenue for game players! Again, THANKS for your two cents!

Remember that name, Tom MacKenzie, and make sure everybody knows what went down.  Identify the cancerous pathogen of the Revolving Door.

  • Roger Pollard

What is the difference between corruption in the US and USSR?  In the USSR the elites own and run everything.  What does that tell you about American politics?

    • Mkw009

It tells me that the Tea Party and its heads want us to become the USSR, which is the duty of us citizens to thwart; and what better way to defeat them than with the very system they are hoping to cut down?

  • Rixar13

“OK, stop pretending. Last week, we found out a guy named Tom MacKenzie
    actually did this!”
    Veteran here looking for justice…

  • Mkw009

If not for this punk and his puppet-master bankrollers, we’d be out of the arms race an onto the energy race LIKE WE SHOULD BE. not only does justice demand to be served here, but his puppet masters need to be investigated and brought to justice as well. justice for vets and USA for the win!

what the actual fuck.has america gone mad?since when is a government supposed to forsake it’s people? it’s 99%? the hard workers? what has the world come to when the people have to beg and grovel for the most basic survival rights?you think it’s bad in america or the UK? what about china? what about africa? where a man can get his hand, foot, leg, or entire lower body cut off for stealing a measly diamond!? (that’s caused by your good friend, Pat Robertson, the owner of your famous 7oo Club Who owns those diamond mines); at his place of work because he gets paid an average of $0.45 to $0.05 per day and his family is starving and has aids?

what has america come to when it disobeys it’s own laws?what has the world come to when it willfully tortures it’s own people?why has the money become so important?~Cat hoarders fill their house with millions of cats every week, (and most of them are starving too btw) and we call them crazy…~Junk hoarders do the same thing, but with miscellaneous crap from any and every garage sale in town and we call them mean things like “nasty” or “nutjob”
~Money hoarders crush the weak and poor, the disabled bodied and unstable minded, and the entire working class. and we let them own fortune 500 companies (what is that, the richest companies in the world or something? coz that’s what it sounds like) and put them on the cover of f####n rich people magazines and advertise it on TV to make fun of poor people.

this kind of crap goes on all the time, that’s why I think term limits for politicians to break down the get to know all the good old boys that they can pay off and also end the free health care and pensions for politicians some who only complete four years get pensions for life, that is wrong! lots  of bribery going on in the political arena, these days!!! It needs to end now!!!

  • James Lamal

Its been a rigged game for some time… and its not in favor of about 90% of the ‘citizens’.
A Constitutional Convention is long overdue?
My my, … have I become a cynic?

As a combat Vietnam veteran, my fondest wish, should the tyrannical, elitist 1% and their stooge puppets are tried for their traitorous criminal activities, found guilty on all counts and then have to face the firing squad without blindfolds! comme il faut

    KEEP IT THOUGHTFULLY
HONEST: This Robert’s S(t)up(id)reme Court historic “decision” could
turn his court into the ultimate DEATH PANEL! Just ask one American! It was
reported in a news interview that Dale Berman doesn’t just have a political
rooting interest in the Supreme Court of over-turning the affordable Health
Care reform law. One can say his life depends on it. As pointed out in new Commonwealth Fund survey of  2011,  nearly 70 percent of adults ages 19 to 64 in the United States
lacked health insurance or have  been
without coverage for more than a year This American like so
many others are now at the mercy of the” California’s federally funded
Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan that was created by the Congress’s
healthcare reform law as a temporary refuge for people awaiting establishment
of so-called insurance exchanges in 2014 to have access to affordable health
insurance with the prospect of insurers not being able to deny coverage to
anyone!” So this Roberts and his right wing, activist Court needs to be
publically shamed to be reminded that we’re a democracy, not a judicial
dictatorship to over-turn this life and death coverage for thousands of
American based upon on a ludicrous argument to “buy broccoli” to quote an
insensitive statement by Mr. Scalia ! Thank you for responsible reporting and
    framing of this critical issue!

let the end of year defense cuts come! then lets hear the baggers scream. as eisenhower said upon leaving office the military industrial complex will run amook. our only chance for long term survivial is to end capitalism

Bribery and  Bonus are spelled the same in this regard. Lets stop the Bull sh-t and call it what it is. And of course this $500K bill gets into the defense bill. Not good for  John Q Taxpayer.

  • Tina Routhier

Well, we all know the Republican Party is for sale to the highest bidder and about a third of the Democrats.  Nothing new there.  What is new is there is no prosecution and conviction and if there were, the Supremes, our ativist right wing judges would overturn them.

  • Bman2000

How about the millons the US government is paying Lockheed to fix a defective airplane!..Who approved this!…where is Obama?….

  • Grossopm

This scenario is completely predictable now that we live in ‘Citizens United’ World.
But it seems like focusing on a barbeque fire while the entire county is being laid waste to wildfire.

  • Rixar13

The giant defense manufacturer Northrop Grumman gave one of its lobbyists a half-million dollar bonus right before he left to serve on the congressional committee that oversees defense budgets.

  • Edlazore203

    So….. what else is new?

  • balding

    Bumper sticker
    CITIZENS UNUNITED

  • Tbejag

Why don’t working folks rise up against this? In part the explanation may lie in the recent discovery/proof that modern humans did mate with neanderthals… and the proof lives on through the T-Party.

  • Wltrwinch

Pretty much the same. Unless we finally decide that it’s not a matter of merely tweaking the system or electing a few “good” people, nothing will change. Of course it is a matter of radical confrontation and occupying the comfortable.

  • Cat

What is happening to our country?  We must protect democracy.  VOTE

Living through the 60′s, 70′s, etc.  I never thought I would witness what is happening today.  Stop the apathy, step-up and participate in keeping our Constitutional rights.

  • Zeke8828

    $$$ doesn’t equal FREE SPEECH!

  • James Lamal

The system is fundamentally rigged, and likely cannot be fixed. High time for a constitutional convention?

    • Case Timothy L

It’s long over due!!! The last time they tried to take away our guns the We The People stood up and fought back!! don’t let them take the 2nd admentment from you!!!

  • Rafael Espericueta

There is a whole lot of bribery going on.  Congress and the presidency are bought and paid for by corporate interests.  This corruption seriously undermines national security.  We need a separation of corporation and state analogous to the separation of church and state!

  • DearKlare

Personally, I am ready for the firing squad without blindfolds for the perps (as one poster commented here) and for the pitchforks and torches, as another commented. I’ve been longing for that for a long time! I sure wish the rest of the nation would come on board! I say Viva la Revolution, and sign me up!

  • DearKlare

So please tell me what happened to Obama on debate night. Is he sick of it all? Does he not care if he gets elected again? Has he put the final stake in the heart of the American people? He doesn’t care if Romney gets elected and puts even more screws to all of us? WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICANS? There is a great silence in the land and not that many people seem to be paying attention. It is scary how apathetic people are! Where is the passion? Where is the concern for personal survival? Where is the upheaval of the ’60s and ’70s? I fear they have worn us down so much no one has any energy at all anymore to continue the fight against corruption and evil. WHY are we voting for Obama if he couldn’t even speak up the other night? Is he that afraid of tarnishing his image? Is that what the ultimate peacemaker looks like? I would welcome the new paradigm, and I hope by contrast he made Romney look so bad that people WILL come out and fight, but I don’ know… I would’ve loved to have seen Obama throwing zingers at Romney and left. Romney has dug his own grave, as far as I am concerned. The problem with this election is that if we don’t vote for Obama again, no third party stands a chance either, and Romney will get elected! That is a thought worse than even George W. Bush! If I were president, Bush and Cheney would’ve been hung long ago, I would’ve used my presidential pen and signing statements to change as many things as I could change, I would’ve told both Boehner and McConnell to go fuck themselves, and I would be working on legislation to change the lifetime status of the Supreme Court! By rights, the miserable five old goats would’ve been out the door on treasonsous charges as soon as they okayed Citizens United! Definitely just cause for impeachment and charges of traitorism and collusion with the corporations. WHAT A MESS OUR COUNTRY HAS BECOME!

  • DearKlare

Sorry–I meant to say “throwing zingers right and left…”
